The E-SERIES single pivot gravity davits are specifically designed for safe and efficient launch and retrieval of totally enclosed lifeboats. It is intended for long term, reliable operation in harsh and hazardous marine and offshore environments. The davit system is designed in accordance with latest Solas and classification society requirements. The davit is intended for lifeboats on ships and similar installations where single point swing-out davit arms offer the optimum solution for launching conventional lifeboats.
The davit system comprises two davit arms, a davit structure and an electrically powered winch operating two wire falls. The winch is deck mounted. The lifeboat is normally boarded in the stowed position.
The system provides:
- Gravity lowering of the loaded lifeboat independent of external power supply.
- Retrieval of lifeboat with crew of three persons with electric power.
- Retrieval of the lifeboat by manual hand cranking.
- Optional approval, according to latest Solas, for rescue boat davit function.
